Nest Series - A Journey Into Childhood
The first of the Nest Series jump started an exploration of childhood themes and nostalgia. I started with the idea of home (nest) and what happens when things don't go according to plan. For me, following my dreams meant attending a prestigious art school close to home. After graduation I felt a bit gutted and lost of sorts. I didn't have a plan, didn't know how to plan and didn't think much of my work. I was frozen. I moved back home and felt like the fish in the imagery. I eventually snapped out of it and put one foot in front of the other. I worked as a scenic artist for years and found my confidence along the way. I eventually left home again and survived the flight.
